How Visit Winston-Salem grew event-page traffic by over 200%.
For a destination driven by events in every season, an outdated, analog workflow was holding the team back. After switching to Cruncho's single, seamless dashboard — a Constellation of API and iFrame calendars — Visit Winston-Salem now manages 23,000+ events from 700+ organizers, with event-page traffic up more than 200%.

The Challenge
Winston-Salem is a destination driven by events in every season — from summer live music series to holiday light displays. But before Cruncho, the team relied on a system that simply didn't work for them, their community partners, or event promoters. It was outdated and analog, managed internally in a way that was ineffective and time-consuming, and it held the destination back from showing itself off as a top place to visit.
“Our destination is driven largely by events throughout all seasons. Ensuring that we have an easy-to-use, accessible event management tool continues to be a top priority for us.”
The Vision
The team set out to find a more intuitive solution with automation options, expanded accessibility so event organizers could manage their own events, and support for multiple account administrators each with their own respective calendars. As they searched, they realized they were looking for a "unicorn" — few tools on the market checked every box. Then came Cruncho.
The Solution
After a single call, the team realized Cruncho was the only solution that gave them everything they wanted and more — all in one seamless dashboard. Built as a Constellation that combines the API and iFrame embeds with multiple administrators and their own calendars, the platform pulls events from local organizers alongside sources like Ticketmaster, Songkick, and Eventbrite.
The standout assets so far: the ease of implementation and the Facebook autofill feature, plus the whole experience of managing organizers — from account creation to event submission — with the team keeping a hand in the process while giving partners a high degree of autonomy.
The Results
The change has been night and day. The team's entire event workflow shifted, giving them time back to spend on other work, while the number and quality of events submitted for review climbed sharply. Cruncho also opened the door to new organizations and community partners they'd never worked with before, surfacing events that were previously off their radar. GA4 and Search Console data shows traffic to event-related pages and event-related search queries rising dramatically — upwards of 200% on the main event landing page alone, which now regularly ranks among the top five pages on the entire site.
“The change is night and day. Our team now has the ability to showcase more events, engage deeper with event organizers, and take back time in our day that can be better utilized on other tasks.”
It is well understood among our team and our community that Cruncho has allowed Visit Winston-Salem to expand the reach of our events in a way that was previously considered impossible.
