How Ljusdal Brought Events From Three Websites Onto One Shared Platform
Ljusdal Municipality replaced a fragmented setup spread across three websites with a single Cruncho Constellation of 3 calendars — gathering all activities for residents and visitors in one place, with 300+ organizers and 2,000+ events.

The Challenge
Event management matters to Ljusdal from both a resident and a visitor perspective — but the municipality had no unified, shared platform to support it. Activities and events were scattered, with no single home for everything happening across the municipality. The result was a fragmented picture that made it harder for organizers to be seen and harder for the community to discover what was on.
“The event calendar is very important to us, from both the residents' and the tourists' perspective. We wanted a platform where all the activities and events in the municipality are gathered in one and the same place.”
The Vision
Ljusdal set out to give event organizers a way to be visible on one shared platform for the whole municipality — and to offer residents and visitors a broad, varied overview of everything on offer. They looked for a user-friendly system where both the municipality and external organizers could easily add events, one that integrated cleanly with their website and could display the full breadth of what's happening across the municipality.
The Solution
Cruncho was deployed as a Constellation of three connected calendars, integrated through both the API and iFrame embeds — so the same event content can surface across the municipality's different web properties while staying in sync. One iFrame calendar runs on the municipality website, ljusdal.se; a second sits on järvsö.se, the tourism board site for Järvsö — a popular ski resort and tourist village within the municipality of Ljusdal; and the API powers a third calendar on Visit Ljusdal, the municipality's tourism board. The Event Manager lets the municipality and local organizers add events easily, and the built-in image bank gives everyone access to attractive visuals.
What stood out for Ljusdal was how simple Cruncho was to use — for everyone — combined with an attractive layout and a calendar view that delivers a clear, complete overview.
The Results
Since launching in October 2022, Ljusdal has a much better way to gather and communicate events. Sharing information has become easier, and organizers can now contribute directly — more than 300 have created accounts and posted events, building a library of 2,000+ events with around 150 live at any given time. The municipality continues to encourage organizers to make the calendar their default home for events, growing engagement steadily over time.
“We've got a better way to gather and communicate events. It's become easier for us to spread information while the organizers can take part and contribute.”
What stood out with Cruncho was that it was easy to use, for everyone — together with its attractive layout.
